Daily Sudoku Puzzles
Four fresh Sudoku puzzles every day — a Mini 6×6, Easy, Medium, and Hard — free to play and designed to keep your mind sharp. Each puzzle refreshes every 24 hours, giving you a consistent mental workout and a reason to come back each day.
Unlike our difficulty-specific pages where you can generate unlimited puzzles, the daily challenges give you one puzzle per difficulty per day — making each solve feel deliberate and meaningful. Track your completion status and build a daily streak.
How the Daily Puzzles Work
Each day at midnight, four new puzzles become available: a quick Mini 6×6 warmup, plus Easy, Medium, and Hard 9×9 grids. Select any puzzle using the buttons above the board — your completion status and solve time are tracked for each one.
The Mini 6×6 uses a smaller grid with 2×3 boxes and numbers 1–6. The 9×9 puzzles follow standard Sudoku rules: fill the grid so that each row, column, and 3×3 box contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once. Use logic, not guessing, to place every digit.
Why a Daily Sudoku Habit Works
Consistent practice beats marathon sessions. Solving one puzzle per day builds technique recognition faster than solving ten puzzles once a week. Your brain consolidates pattern recognition during rest — a daily habit gives it something new to process every day.
Varied difficulty builds versatility. Because the daily puzzle changes difficulty, you’ll practice naked singles and hidden singles one day, then need pointing pairs or X-Wings the next. This keeps all your techniques sharp rather than letting lower-level skills atrophy while you focus on advanced puzzles.
A low-commitment time investment. Most daily puzzles take 5–20 minutes depending on difficulty. That’s short enough to fit into a morning routine, a lunch break, or the last few minutes before bed.
Track your improvement naturally. Over weeks and months of daily solving, you’ll notice that puzzles that once took 15 minutes now take 5. Techniques that required deliberate concentration become automatic. The daily format makes this progress visible in a way that random puzzle-solving doesn’t.
Make the Most of Your Daily Solve
- Set a consistent time. Choose a daily slot — with morning coffee, during lunch, or as an evening wind-down. Consistency strengthens the habit.
- Don’t rush. The daily puzzle isn’t a race. Take time to apply techniques carefully and learn from each solve rather than just filling in numbers.
- Try without hints first. Push yourself to solve without assistance. If you get stuck, pause and come back later before using a hint. The struggle is where learning happens.
- Review what worked. After completing a puzzle, think about which techniques you used. Were there moments where you were stuck? What finally broke the puzzle open? This reflection accelerates improvement.
Difficulty Levels Explained
Not sure what level today’s puzzle will require? Here’s a quick orientation:
- Easy — Solvable with naked singles and hidden singles alone. Great for building speed and warming up.
- Medium — Requires naked pairs and hidden pairs in addition to singles. The sweet spot where real problem-solving begins.
- Hard — Introduces pointing pairs, naked triples, and hidden triples. Fewer clues, longer deduction chains.
- Expert — Grid-spanning techniques like X-Wing, Swordfish, and XY-Wing. Requires seeing patterns across the entire grid.
- Evil — Chain-based reasoning, coloring, and forcing chains. The hardest puzzles available, with minimal starting clues.
If today’s puzzle feels too hard (or too easy), try a difficulty-specific page where you can generate unlimited puzzles at exactly the level you want.
